Why Community Aliyah
Moving halfway across the world to a new country, with its different way of life, has its challenges to say the least. The path is arduous, but Olim eventually become part of Israeli society. Community Aliyah is way to make Aliyah as a group and share experiences and “best practices” that other Olim have learned. It also enables Olim to bring with them the favorite aspects of their communities and to help each other make the transition.
By making the move to a Hebrew-speaking city with other Olim, who share common values and way of life, Olim can integrate into Israeli society through a “soft landing” and enable their kids to flourish in their new home, without living in an English-speaking bubble. The danger of living in an Anglo bubble is that Olim can stay Olim their entire lives and not become enmeshed with Israeli society. Community Aliyah is designed to be a neighborhood within a Hebrew-speaking city so Olim get the best of both worlds.
Making Aliyah is not easy, but Community Aliyah enables Olim to learn to ride with “training wheels” and then ride on their own.
Buyers Group
Community Aliyah gives the group an advantage with greater buying power, by creating a buyers group (Kvutzat Rechisha). The buyers group buys the land and then hires a contractor to build the building. The process cuts out the developer, which means savings on the finished apartments. The group controls the standard of the material used for finishing the apartment and the members could choose to change the size of rooms on the building’s plans if that is what the members decide.
Our legal team is experienced in these types of projects and helps guide it to fruition. Savings to members can be in excess of 10 to 20 percent. This type of buying tool is especially suited for groups making Aliyah together, who have similar backgrounds and can influence the outcome of the project.
